Portfolio
Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Ying Stock-Bordnick and I am an engineer, seasoned maker, and small business owner. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated by how things work, and more importantly, how they can work better. Whether I was dismantling gadgets or reimagining the objects around me, I’ve always been drawn to the balance between form and function. That same curiosity has evolved into a deep passion for designing products and systems that make people’s lives easier, safer, and more intuitive.
Today, I’m pursuing a master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering at Tulane University after completing my B.S.E. in Engineering Physics with a Mechanical Engineering certificate. My studies and projects have given me a strong and diverse technical foundation, but what excites me most is understanding the human side of design: the psychology, ergonomics, and creativity behind every product interaction. That drive has shaped both my academic and entrepreneurial pursuits, often pushing me to turn frustration with existing designs into opportunities to build something better.
Looking ahead, I’m working to build a career that merges my diverse technical background with user-centered design, creating products that are intuitive, ergonomic, and enduring. I believe that the world needs more human-centered design. Design that values empathy, simplicity, and the quiet elegance of things that work seamlessly with our daily lives. Whether through creating smarter products, enhancing accessibility, or leading my own ventures, I hope to make people’s lives a little easier and a little more enjoyable.
